“I was lucky to join the procession for the Silent Gondola Parade for the end of Carnevale – absolutely fantastic – in an old Batella for eight people. All the palazzi were candlelit, and even the waterbus stops were illuminated with candles. We had two lady rowers, and had mulled wine, Prosecco, carnival cakes and biscuits. Hundreds of people were on the bridges and on the sides of the canals watching us – what a privilege!”

“This was a morning view in April 2012 towards the village of Mogliano. I bought this property in 2004 and set about a total rebuild and renovation of this old farmhouse, built in the 1890s. The village of Mogliano is about three miles away, out towards the Adriatic coast.”
