Readers Photos – Graceful Decay – Photo of the Day

You could look at this photo hundreds of time and each time find something new on such an old and detailed building.

“Another day took us up to the hills, to Bussana Vecchia, an old village originally destroyed by an earthquake in 1887. The town itself is a contrast between pretty, hip, and haunting, with art galleries next door to fallen brick walls. Large portions lie as they did for decades. The main church looks like a bombed-out shell, with its roof open to the sky.  Paintings are still fresh on its walls.”
